The proprietor, Jane Leslie Alperin, then astutely corralled exquisite handiwork and nonpareil pieces from sought-after international artists, talented local artisans, and covetable luxury brands.

With a bit of fairy dust and a soupçon (or, "smidgen," per Northeastern Pennsylvanian parlance) of merrymaking, Jane Leslie & Co. opened its doors; soon, her signature handpainted décor and home furnishings were the talk of the town.
